anime north 2009: sunday convention report

Having only gotten to ed some time between 2 and 3 that morning, I ended up getting up at around 8:30. Everyone had to finish packing for hotel checkout at noon. After finished packing, I got dressed as Feldt from Gundam 00 while Ayu wore Rita from ToV again. We needed to get our luggage on the bus around 11, so we only had about 30 minutes to do a quick tour of the Dealer's Room by the time we got downstairs.

The only thing we ended up getting while we were there was a birthday present for a friend. We then had to rush back to the hotel to get our stuff and make it to the Gundam shoot on time which was also at 11. Everyone was trying to checkout, so it was practically impossible to catch a free elevator going down. The two of us decided to make the treck down eleven flights of stairs with our giant suitcases.

After getting our stuff on the bus, I ran to the gathering, managing to get there about 15 minutes late. I didn't stay long as I was boiling hot and Ayu completely distracted me, but I had a lot of fun. The Tieria with the Haro was really nice and let me hold it for the shoot and even offered me some pocky. Ayu stopped by soon after telling me that one of the dealer's had brought Tales of Symphonia figurines. I said my goodbyes and quickly ran off the get some.

Once I had acquired my figurines, I then caught up with Ayu again and we got some slush as the two of us were dying of thirst. We then set off to the Yu-Gi-Oh BL panel. We somehow managed to get lost trying ot find the right hotel, and Ayu was the only one who ended up going/catching the end of it as my feet hurt too much to make the treck over the brigde.

I ended up walking around for a little while around the TCC and then gave up and just rested on the grassy patches in front of the convention center. I ran into Tamara's sister and her friends, and stayed with them until it was time to go and meet Ayu again. I told her I'd seen Diane and co. (her Vesperia group), and we went to go and find them. The rest of the time was spent hanging out with them. They had a photoshoot with Henrickson for an hour or so just before we had to leave, so I sat around at watched.

By around a quarter after four, it was time to say our goodbyes. Ayu and I headed back to the Double Tree Hotel as that was where we thought we were supposed to catch the bus. When we got there, the buses weren't there nor were there any people. To make a long story short, after much panicking, we found out where the buses actually were, and borded with much relief. We were then on our way back to Montreal!
