otakon 2007: thursday convention report Comming from New York, the bus arrived at the Downtown Baltimore terminal at around 3 in the afternoon. That gave my mom and I plenty of time to check in, relax, and for me to get a head start on ironing my wrinkly costumes. I was a bit apprehensive about the hotel after the disaster in New York, but I'm glad to say that all that worry was for naught. The room we got was absolutely gorgeous. I honestly didn't think it was going to be as big as it was. I was in heaven~ If it wasn't for the insanely long walking distance, I'd reserve a room there in a heartbeat everytime I go to Otakon. I got about half of my ironing done before I realized the time. I quickly got dressed as Nobuta from Nobuta wo Prouce and we headed out the door. We got the convention center at around ten to five. I was waiting to meet up with my friends Roxey and Avenly for pre-reg. During that time, I laughed inwardly everytime someone thought I was just cosplaying some generic school girl. One guy said that out of all hte school girls he'd seen at Otakon, I was the only one that actually looked like one. XD That made me happy. Another guy screamed: "Omg! School girl! Glomp!"
Once we got our badges, I headed back to their hotel room for a little while. On our way
from the BBC, we kept laughing over the fact that only a grand total of 1 person knew who we were. Everyone
else kept mistaking us for ____ series. A group of people from their masq. group and I were going to eat down at the Hard Rock Cafe. Before actually going there, we had to meet them in front of the con entrance. During that time, one more group of people recognized us, this guy from ANN filmed us (he told us to wave at the camera as if being at Otakon was the best thing in the world. Very out of character for my character XD), Eurobeat King took our pictures, and we all got very hungry. We waited for an hour before heading off to the restaurant. While we were there, I had a blast! =D |

At around 5:30, I finally met up with my friends. I had a lot of fun with them in the
pre-reg line! JE provides us with lots of entertainment. Lol. The line moved really quickly considering how
long it was. It couldn't have taken us more than 30 to 45 minutes to get through it. I'm always really
impressed with how organized they are at it.
